Activ Maths

Today we completed a Teach Activ lesson. The children created a number line using cones. We placed numbers 0 – 1000 on the line and then marked where our multiples of 100 were. Afterwards, we estimated where the 3 digit numbers are.

Healthy Living Week

This week we have celebrated Healthy Living Week. We kicked off the week with some football led by students from Sheffield Hallam University. This will be continuing until Christmas!

We have also participated in some mindfulness yoga!

Take a look at our sleep assembly! Did you know that if we do not get enough sleep, it can affect our mood and concentration?

Finally but certainly not least we have had Mission Active come to complete a jam packed session which involved running, jumping, throwing and much more! It was tiring just watching everyone.

Geometry

In our geometry learning we learnt about tangrams. We are so impressed with the children’s effort today…we found out that these take a lot of time and patience!

Once we had cut out our shape, we had a go at arranging them to make a picture. This was extra tricky as we had to use all of the shapes provided.

Take a look!

Anti Bullying Week

This week some of our learning has focused on Anti Bullying Week. It has been wonderful seeing all of the kinds things children suggested that we could do make sure everyone we know stays happy and positive.

In these lessons we have created a kindness jar which featured the different things to can do to help others.

Kadija: Use kind hands and feet.

Sophia: Help someone if they’re hurt.

Harrison B: Always say nice things to others.

We also thought about when we have shown kindness. We had some very thoughtful ideas such as open the door for people and play with someone that looks sad.

Fantastic work everyone!

Star of the Week

This week have our focus for our topic learning has been the Mediterranean. The children have researched the different countries and climates of Mediterranean countries. This allowed us to create a weather report based on some of the 21 countries. These pupils have all impressed in this learning; as well as some in our place value learning.

Well done!

Weather Reporting

As part of our topic work about the Mediterranean we have written and presented weather reports. We discussed the climate and weather in the Mediterranean and how it compares to where we live. When we presented our weather reports we had to use clear, loud voices and we tried to look at and smile at the camera.

Gymnastics

This half term we are practising our gymnastic skills. During this lesson we focussed on different rolls: teddy roll, pencil roll, egg roll and a dish roll.

We had to make sure our bodies were positioned in the right way to avoid injury. Then we had to apply the correct amount of force to ensure our roll moved all the way over. As you can see from the pictures, we had to hold out bodies in different positions for each roll.
