Yesterday afternoon we had our first visit to Manor Library. We really enjoyed looking through all the books and even got to borrow some and take them home with us!
Our Library visits for this half term are:
Wednesday 27th September
Wednesday 11th October
Wednesday 25th October
We can’t wait for our next visit!
On Monday Sapphire Class had a treat. We were invited to Manor Library to take part in an activity with the Confucius Institute who are based at Sheffield University.
First we learnt all about the Dragon Boat Festival and we found out that it is a traditional Chinese holiday that commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese poet Qu Yuan. We also learnt how to say hello (Nǐ hǎo) and dragon boat (Lóngzhōu) in Chinese.
Then we created our own dragon boat by folding some red paper into a boat shape, it was really tricky but we persevered and everyone managed to make their very own dragon boat.
Finally we raced our dragon boats by balancing them on our heads and having a race.
We had lots of fun learning all about the dragon boat festival!
We visit Manor Top library every other week. We love to read new books.
Today we had a look for books by David Walliams, books about light and shadow, books about Islam and books about the Ancient Greeks.
