Wear it Wild Day!

On Friday, in support of World Wildlife Fund, members of Sapphire class came to school dressed as a wild animal! We all brought in a pound and raised a lot of money to support the charity.

Dragon Boat Festival

On Monday Sapphire Class had a treat. We were invited to Manor Library to take part in an activity with the Confucius Institute who are based at Sheffield University.

First we learnt all about the Dragon Boat Festival and we found out that it is a traditional Chinese holiday that commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese poet Qu Yuan. We also learnt how to say hello (Nǐ hǎo) and dragon boat (Lóngzhōu) in Chinese.

Then we created our own dragon boat by folding some red paper into a boat shape, it was really tricky but we persevered and everyone managed to make their very own dragon boat.

Finally we raced our dragon boats by balancing them on our heads and having a race.

Red Nose Day 2017

Sapphire Class have had lots of fun today dressing in something red for Comic Relief. Prince Edward have raised lots of money this year by selling red noses and having a non-uniform day.

Remember, it’s not too late to donate some money to Comic Relief. Comic Relief funds 1000s of projects worldwide and with your donations they could fund even more.
