Equivalent Fractions

Recently in Sapphire Class we have been learning about equivalent fractions, a topic which can be really tricky. However we have all persevered and tried really hard. We used magnetic fraction shapes and bars as well as the fraction rods to find how many smaller fractions we could fit into the bigger fraction. We had to be careful because they needed to fit perfectly, with no gaps or overhangs.

This investigating really helped us and gave us a strong foundation for the rest of our fractions learning.
